Cast:

  • So Ji Sub as Joo Joong Won
  • Kong Hyo Jin as Tae Kong Sil
  • Seo In Guk as Kang Woo
  • Kim Yoo Ri as Tae Yi Ryung

Short Review:

I was unsure about watching this drama at first due to it’s extreme popularity…I didn’t know if people only watched it because it was being raved about or did they genuinely like it? Also, it’s supposed to be “scary,” I don’t handle scary well at all. LUCKYILY, after I got past the first episode I found it pretty engaging. Also, I really liked the cast so it made everything better. It was a bit cliche, but aren’t all dramas? Plus, this drama created scenarios for the watchers so they wouldn’t get bored and had the chance to see the characters grow. What I found funny was, well, Soo Ji Sub….his face barely changes. That’s his trademark look:

but when he does smile….. ^^

Image

As for the chemistry between the two characters…well I didn’t see it that much, but since I am I fan of these two actors I could ignore it. I did like how Soo Ji Sub’s character did change the way he treated her (after he realized he liked her), but it didn;t change his entire personality. It was cute to see him act nice to her and everyone be extremely weirded out.

Image

Seo In Guk gets more handsomer the more I see him in dramas! o.O

Image

I think he’s a pretty good actor! Plus he has a pretty voice. They should have used his song more often than the same one song they played over five times EVERY episode.

I really did like the storyline because it differed and they grew from each experience..like the one with the dog killed me. D;

Image

AND GUESS WHO APPEARED LATER IN THIS DRAMA????

Image

Image yus. ^^ GAHHH I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN HE APPEARED! Although there were some episodes where he had the same outfit he wore in Dating Agency…lol but it doesn’t matter because he’s still adorable.

This drama was pretty funny as well. The jokes and the way they had the characters sometimes “overreact” because it added to the comedy. Good job Hong Sisters, another well done drama. I wonder what they have in store next? 😮

KBS Drama Special: Adolescence Medley (aka Puberty Medley)

Image

Grade: A+ (although I haven’t finished it yet, I am positive this drama will live up to my expectations)

Episodes: 4

Starring:

  • Kwak Dong Yeon as Choi Jungwoo

  • Lee Se Young as Yang Ayeong

  • Choi Tae Joon as Lee YoekHo (Borwn Bear) <—MY LOVE

My thoughts:

Although I am waiting, longingly, for the next two episodes to come out, I can say that I am loving this drama already and wish it was longer. It’s pretty adorable and funny, reminds me a little of Answer Me, 1997. I like how it’s not obvious humor, as in fart jokes or people falling down and acting silly. These characters make you laugh just by their reactions or the way they deal with things. It’s refreshing to see, again, I WISH IT WAS LONGER. Maybe this is why I liked Answer Me, 1997 so much…

Imageahhh the beauty of first loves…I really like these actors, they play very likeable characters.

Image Image

I can’t forget to say what the best part of this short drama is…

Imageyes. Choi Tae Joon. *swooning* As the drama goes on I start to like his character more. He’s mysterious and has a secret that we HOPEFULLY will find out WHEN YOUTUBE ALLOWS THE EPISODE TO BE PLAYED IN THE US.

Anyways, I’m enjoying this series and loving the guest appearances, Jonghyun from CNBLUE is yet to make an appearance and impress us with his beautiful voice AND boxing skills! oh la la! ^^ Looking forward to that.

Review:

To put it simply, I. loved. this. drama. I think it’s one of my favorites that I’ve watched. At first I was hesitant to start a 45 episode drama, is it worth it? ummmmm….a definite YES. Smile, you is a very well done drama. It’s well paced, nicely written, good cast and characters. Of course the beginning was somewhat hard to watch only because I disliked so many of the characters. I thought how could they act like this? There were times in the drama where I wanted to slap the characters, but that’s the beauty of seeing the these (fictional D:) people develop into real humans. Just going to put it out there that Hyunsu’s mother was crazy…I mean I feel like she went overboard with trying to protect her baby…talk about obsessive.  Someone needed to remind her that Hyunsu is 30… I’m just glad she got better towards the end otherwise it would have put a damper on the drama.

I really loved how well balanced the romance and family aspect of this drama was.

Image

It was so cute seeing all of them interact with one another like a true family after all they have been through.

Favorite characters would include of course Hyunsu and Jungmin. I think that they’re one of the cutest couples I’ve seen. They have such adorable scenes that make you giggle along with them. ^^

The fact that they were able to stay together through it all made them such a realistic and satisfying couple to watch.

Can I also say that I’m loving Kyung Ho more and more. That smile and laugh…swooning. His character is perfect husband material…just saying. ^^

It was especially funny when Hansae was involved. Episodes 23 has to be my favorite… hehe

I can’t forget Lee Chun Hee’s character! Him and Jisu come in second place for my favorite characters in this drama. What I love even more is that they are love interests that became a reality! When I found out that they are actually married in real life I just exploded with happiness. Just perfection.

Sigh, I’m sad it’s over. D; This is one underrated drama that people need to see. Just a round of applause to the cast, writers, directors, and whoever else was involved with this. What more can I say? Well done.

Episodes: 18

Starring:

  • Lee Jong Suk as Park Soo Ha
  • Lee Bo Young as Jang Hye Sung
  • Yoon Sang Hyun as Cha Kwan Woo
  • Lee Dae Hee as Seo Do Yeon

Short Review:

At first I was reluctant to start this drama becasuse all of the hype surrounding it. Would it be like another Dream High where everyone liked it despite it’s many flaws? (I do admit I liked Dream High ^^) However, once I began watching I was completely hooked. I needed to find out who these people were and what would happen next. It had it’s funny, heartwrenching moments, cute and suspenseful moments. It really showed that if you are clever enough you can escapes the law no matter what crime was committed. But then again, with the right attorneys, who had the right mindset, the victim can prove their innocence. WOOT WOOT!

When dealing with the law…EVIDENCE IS KEY. EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE.  Although I was unsure about the main leads together I definitely rooted for them in the end.

Image

Two thumbs up to the script writer and all the actors because they made the drama as good as it was. The cons? Hmmmm let me think about it…

I’m glad they extended this drama because it could not have ended at 16 episodes. Ahhhhhhhhh I just really enjoyed this drama!!!!! I can’t say enough about it . So far the dramas that Jong Suk has been never disappointed me. This must mean something, huh?

Image

Out of all the characters I really liked Attorney Cha. His love and trust for others was amazing. He always turned a bad situation into a positive one. He was a good contrast against Hye Sung who was completely opposite of him.

Image

Also, something random, but I really liked Seo Do Yeon’s hair. If I had a face like hers I would cute my hair like that as well. ^^

Image

Overall, just a really well done drama. I have nothing else to say….WATCH!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. You’ll see why. 😀

Heartless City (Some Spoilers)

Image

Grade: B-

Episodes: 20

Starring:

  • Jung Kyung Ho as Jung Shi Hyun
  • Nam Gyu Ri as Han Soo Min
  • Lee Jae Yoon as Ji Hyeong MIn
  • Kim Yu Mi as Lee Jin Sook
  • Yoon Hyun Min as Kim Hyun Soo
  • Choi Moo Sung as Moon Deok Bae
  • Son Chang Min as Min Hong Ki
  • Ko Na Eun as Lee Kyung Mi

Moral of this story…don’t trust anyone. In this case, especially the police. It’s a corrupt world they live in, the drug world that is.

I think I’m the only one that didn’t like this drama as much despite all the postitive reviews it’s been getting. I wanted to like it, but in the end I found myself disappointed with many things.

Characters:

I’m a fan of the Jung Kyung Ho, but I don’t think this role suited him.

Image though I did like his character, Doctor’s Son. He lived a tough life, that one. I just wish things worked out for him in the end.

As for Soo Min,well I wasn’t a fan of her. She can cry though.

I liked Gyung Mi and wished she had a larger role in this drama because her character was definitely likeable. After her I would say Lee Jin Sook was another favorite. I really her personality and the tough attitude she gave off when in the end she was as vulnerable as everyone else.

The “love story” was definitely rushed and seemed noexistent. After meeting him a couple times she’s already in love? I don’t think so.

When I started this drama I was intrigued, pulled in by it’s premise of crime and mystery. Later I lost interest until the middle where it began to pick up speed and was interesting, but by the end as in the last two episodes I was ready to be done. It was and up and down rollercoaster for me.

Image

You didn’t know who was police, who was undercover, who was bad, who was good. I liked that in the beginning, but it became too much. As if the writer just wanted ro reverse everyone’s roles. I wanted to like this drama but there were so many things I couldn’t look past. In the end, because I didn’t pay much attention I didn’t know who was who and if they were part of which gang or part of the police force. Ahhhhhhh.

I think if they didn’t have this kind of love story it would have been ok. The flahsbacks were nice and gave us more insight to who these people were and questioned why they would betray each other.

Image

TRUST NO ONE. Despite the things they did, it was sad when they died because of the life they lived and what could have become of them. In the end I wanted them to live and live out a clean life but it was too late :[

One thing I learned from this drama…I know how to say doctor’s son now. Hehe yes.

I did like the music and the attire the cast wore.

Dating Agency: Cyrano

Grade: A-

Episodes: 16

Starring:

  • Lee Jong Jyuk as Seo Byung Hoon
  • Sooyoung as Kong Min Yong
  • Hong Jong Hyeon as Moo Jin
  • Jo Yoon Woo as A- Rang
  • Lee Chun Hee as Cha Seung Pyo aka Master

This drama was based on the movie Cryano Agency

Image which is a a team one hires (secretly) to help with their troubled live lives. This team create stages that in the end would make the “target” fall in love with the client.

This drama was a fun one to watch and (sadly) went by pretty fast. The pace was easy to follow especially towards the end. I really enjoyed the humor and storyline that was seen in each episode. Despite what many said about Sooyoung as the main lead, I personally thought she did a great job. Although I’m not a fan of SNSD I did like her character and found her believable. Two thumbs up, Sooyoung! The characters in this drama as lovable in their own way. I only wish they showed more of them such as A- Rang, who disappeared for a little while.

This drama has a few cameos by idols and actors such as:

These guest appearance make the drama even more fun because their stories brought new situations. Such as the start of young love or learning that to love someone else is to love yourself first.

As for the soundtrack, double thumbs up! I found one of my favorite songs because of this drama. It’s by Ra.D called Something Flutters. It’s such a nice piece that plays well  at the right moments in the drama.

Image

From the beginning it’s obvious who she is going to end up, but I still longed, hoped, WISHED, that her and Master would make it to the end. I LOVED this character (and I’m a fan of Chun Hee so maybe that had some influence).

Image

The bad guy turned good for the girl who was never “his style.” Ack there goes my heart. I could go on and on about how much I liked him/ them but I shall not.

Image

Handsome? I KNOW, RIGHT?

But alas, such dreams for this couple did not happen. I least they had several cute scenes that will satisfy my need for them to be together.

Overall this was a enjoyable drama that I would recommend many to give a chance.

Padam Padam (The Sound of His and Her Heartbeats)

Grade: A-

Episodes: 20

Starring:

  • Jung Woo Sung as Yang Kang Chil
  • Han Ji Min as Jung Ji Na
  • Kim Beom as Gook Soo
  • Choi Tae Joon as Im Jung

Short Review:

I just finished this drama and I can say I wasn’t disappointed. It really is one of the many  underrated dramas out there. Why? This drama is not the typical korean “rom com” that many are used to watching. Padam Padam plays with your heartstrings leaving viewers crying along with the main characters. I personally liked how all the relationships between the characters played out. Although this drama had it’s flaws, there are many pros going for this drama, as in the storyline and acting. The characters are “real” compared to the cliche ones usually portrayed certain dramas. I liked Jung Ji Na’s personality and independence that female leads lack. Without revealing any spoilers I will leave saying that this is a highly recommended drama that one should watch.
